Who I am

Albert Chammas is a Biology student at the University of California, Riverside with academic, clinical, and technical interests at the intersection of healthcare and medical imaging. Through hospital-based clinical experience, radiology exposure, and research training, he has developed a strong interest in diagnostic imaging, image interpretation, and 3D visualization tools that support learning, analysis, and clinical decision-making.

He has contributed to clinical support environments through COPE Health Scholars, observed dermatology workflows at Riverside University Health System, conducted molecular biology research at UC Riverside focused on pomegranate genetic barcoding, and built technical projects involving X-ray image analysis and imaging-based visualization. His portfolio reflects a growing focus on radiology-adjacent technologies, including 3D Slicer, OsiriX, DICOM-based workflows, and image-centered analytical tools.

What I focus on

Four areas that shape my work

Medical Imaging

X-ray, CT, and DICOM-based review with an emphasis on pattern recognition and interpretability.

Clinical Workflow Awareness

Familiarity with hospital processes, radiology operations, and multidisciplinary patient care.

3D Visualization

Segmentation, volume rendering, and 3D reconstruction workflows built in 3D Slicer and OsiriX.

Research and Data Analysis

Laboratory methods, reproducible protocols, and data interpretation grounded in scientific rigor.

Why medical imaging

A direction shaped by direct clinical exposure

He became interested in medical imaging through direct clinical exposure and radiology-related work, where imaging played a central role in recognizing abnormalities, understanding patient cases, and supporting diagnostic thinking. That interest expanded into technical exploration of image analysis, 3D reconstruction, and software tools that make complex anatomy and imaging data easier to interpret. This direction reflects the clinical, research, and imaging foundation visible across his experience.
